What "Know Your Customer" means

Know Your Customer (KYC) is the standard process by which a financial service confirms that a client is a real, identifiable person, and that the information provided at registration is accurate.

At Qarfina Digital Investment Programme, the KYC process involves gathering and validating key personal information: your complete legal name, birth date, country where you reside, how to reach you and the payment method you plan to use. Your sign-up information is matched against the supporting documents you supply.

What we do not do

We do not ask for your online banking password, your full card PIN, or remote access to your device. No member of our team will ever request those. Any message that does is not from us and should be reported through the abuse form.

Definition

What "anti-money laundering" means

Anti-money laundering (AML) is the set of internal controls a financial service uses to prevent its platform from being used to move the proceeds of crime, to finance illegal activity, or to disguise the true origin of funds.

AML controls are broader than a one-off identity check. They cover risk classification of new accounts, sanctions and politically-exposed-person screening, limits on unusual funding patterns, record keeping, internal escalation of suspicious activity and, where the applicable law requires it, reporting to the competent authority.

Where AML rules and a client instruction conflict, the AML rules take priority. That can mean a delayed transaction, a request for additional documents, or a restricted account until the matter is resolved.

Rationale

Why verification is required

  1. 01

    Legal obligation

Entities that manage or move customer money are typically obligated to establish the identity of their customers prior to delivering services. This requirement is mandatory and extends to every account without any exclusions.

  2. 02

    Protecting your money

Verification ties an account to one identifiable owner. It makes account takeover far harder, and it means withdrawals can only be sent back to a payment method proven to belong to you.

  3. 03

    Keeping the platform clean

Screening keeps sanctioned parties and anonymous shell activity off the platform, which protects every other client using it.

  4. 04

    Faster payouts later

An account verified up front does not have to stop for checks at withdrawal time, which is when delays are least welcome.

Documents

Which documents are accepted

Three document categories may be required. Submissions must be full-color images or PDFs, completely visible, unaltered, with all edges and written content clearly readable.

1. Identity document

A government-issued document that shows your photograph, full name, date of birth, document number and expiry date. Commonly accepted types are a passport, a national identity card, or a driving licence where it is issued as a photographic identity document. The document must be valid and not expired.

2. Proof of address

A current document, normally from the past several months, displaying your name and home address exactly as registered in your account. Examples include a water or electric bill, a credit card or bank statement, a regional or council assessment notice, or a formal notice from a government body. PO addresses and premises in another person's name will not be recognized.

3. Proof of payment method

Proof that the payment source is yours. For a credit or debit card, this typically means a photograph showing your name, the initial six and closing four digits plus the expiration date, while other digits and CVV are obscured. For a bank transfer, a bank statement or letter under your name with the bank account number suffices. For a digital payment account, provide a screenshot of your account details showing your name and wallet identifier.

Formats and file size

File size constraints, approved formats and any extra document needs are displayed in your account's verification section. Paperwork in languages other than your account's designated language may need official translation; your assigned compliance officer will notify you if necessary.

Process

The verification steps

  1. 01

    Register

Set up your account using your actual legal name, age, nation of residence, email address and mobile number. Inconsistencies between your account data and documentation are the primary reason for processing delays.

  2. 02

    Confirm contact details

Authenticate your email and, if required, your phone number. This validates that you own these communication methods.

  3. 03

    Upload your identity document

Provide the document sections containing your photo and identity information. Certain verifications may include a quick identity confirmation or facial recognition to ensure the document holder is the legitimate owner.

  4. 04

    Upload proof of address

Upload a recent qualifying document in your name at the address on file.

  5. 05

    Confirm the payment method

Provide proof of the instrument you will use to fund and to receive withdrawals.

  6. 06

    Screening and review

Our compliance team reviews the file, runs the required sanctions and risk screening, and either approves the account or asks for a correction.

  7. 07

    Confirmation

You receive a notification once the account status changes. The current status is always visible in the verification area of your account.

Timing

How long a check takes

Most complete submissions are reviewed within a few hours to a couple of business days. Files that need a second look, a translation or an additional document can take longer.

Review times depend on volume, on the quality of the uploads and on whether any additional screening is triggered. The processing window that applies to your account, together with the current status of each document, is shown in your account area - that published figure is the one to rely on, not any figure quoted elsewhere.

  • Unmodified, thorough and genuine documents get processed in the shortest time.
  • Checks filed after regular working hours will be handled on the next business day.
  • Enhanced review, where required, adds time and is communicated to you.
Troubleshooting

Why a check can be rejected

A rejection is usually a document problem, not a judgement about you. In most cases you can simply re-upload and the account is approved on the second attempt.

ReasonHow to fix it
Image blurred, cropped or glare-coveredRe-shoot in daylight, flat on a dark surface, all four corners visible.
Document expiredUpload a currently valid document.
Name or date of birth does not match the accountCorrect the account details, or explain a legal name change with supporting proof.
Proof of address too old or not in your nameProvide a recent qualifying document issued to you at your registered address.
Payment method belongs to a third partyUse an instrument in your own name - third-party funding is not accepted.
Document that is changed, trimmed to remove information, or a digital copy of a displayFurnish an unchanged initial file or PDF version.
Residence in an excluded jurisdictionThe account cannot be opened; see our licensing page for the general position.

Ongoing controls

Ongoing transaction monitoring

Verification is not a one-time event. Accounts and transactions are monitored for as long as the relationship lasts.

What is monitored

Cash inflow and outflow activity, switching payment methods, moving to a different nation or updating contact channels, actions inconsistent with your original profile data, and any suspicious behavior detected by our risk systems.

What can happen as a result

  • A demand for current documentation or clarification regarding fund origins.
  • A temporary hold on a specific transaction while it is reviewed.
  • Modification of account spending restrictions.
  • Suspension or termination of the account as mandated by applicable law.

Records

Identification data and transaction records are retained for the period required by applicable law after the relationship ends, and are handled in line with our Privacy Policy. In certain circumstances the law prevents us from telling a client that a report has been made.

Your side

Your obligations

  • Give accurate, current and complete information, and keep it up to date.
  • Use only your own funds and your own payment instruments - never someone else's.
  • Maintain a single account and safeguard your login information.
  • Answer to all document inquiries within the specified deadline.
  • Tell us promptly if you change country of residence, legal name or payment method.
  • Report any suspected unauthorised access to your account immediately.

Presenting counterfeit or manipulated documents is a grave offense. This results in permanent account deactivation and, where mandated by local regulations, disclosure to relevant government bodies.

Support

Where to ask questions

If anything on this page is unclear, or you want to know the exact status of your own verification, ask us before uploading again.

Who reviews my documents?

A qualified AML compliance specialist. Data is maintained in secure databases with restricted accessibility to authorized personnel only.

Can I start before I am verified?

You can register and explore the account, but funding, trading and withdrawals depend on the verification status published in your account.

Do I have to verify again later?

Yes, it may happen. Credentials expire, residential locations shift and recurring validation is standard anti-money-laundering protocol. You will be notified if renewal is required.

How do I contact the compliance team?

Use the contact route on our contact page Include a reference to "KYC" or "verification" in your communication, along with your account's email address. Refrain from sharing document images through unprotected means - utilize the account section to submit them instead.

Licenses & regulatory information

Before you upload

Get verified once, cleanly

Three issues account for ninety per cent of processing delays: an unclear photograph, an expired address proof, and a payment source registered under another person's name. Addressing these typically results in successful verification on the initial attempt.

Need help with a document?

Our support team can tell you exactly which file was rejected and why.

  • Check the verification area of your account first.
  • Then contact support with your registered email address.
